What is PowerTab?

Power Tab is a tablature authoring tool for the Windows operating system. It is intended to be used to create scores for the two most popular forms of tablature found on the Internet: guitar and bass. It is not designed to be used as a MIDI sequencer, nor is it designed to be used to create piano scores. Power Tab offers such options as playback of Power Tab Scores via MIDI device driver, import MIDI files, chord & tuning dictionaries, export ASCII, MIDI and HTML files, full print preview and printing of Power Tab scores and etc.

How can i open Powertabs files?

You can open and play back Power Tabs by using Power Tabs Editor which is a freeware software. You can download Power Tab Editor at this location

What is Guitar Pro?

Guitar Pro is a multitrack tablature editor for guitar, banjo and bass. With this program you can edit, listen, print, import, export and transpose your tablatures and there are a lot of useful features for guitarists like the chord diagram library, the metronom, the tuner, etc. It is the ideal tool for composers, groups or single players who want to play a score with several guitars, students who want to learn the tabs given by their professor, or the tabs found in a paper method, etc. There is no limit in the use of Guitar Pro because this is not a closed method or a complex and non-guitaristic MIDI sequencer.
